pricing

Base prices reflect the cost of a standard dulcimer without extra features.

Types of payment accepted include: Personal Check, Money Order, PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Additional Features

Scallop Fretboard $90.00: The scallop fretboard has cut away arches underneath to create less contact with the soundboard. This creates better volume and a richer open tone in the instrument.

Ebony Overlay $35.00: The ebony overlay on a fretboard increases the strength and durability of the fretboard surface.

Rosewood Overlay $30.00: Is another excellent material for fretboard protection.

Double Back $200.00: A second (double) back increases volume and tone quality by eliminating the deadening effects of the instrument having direct contact with the player's body.

Electronic Pickup (Internal Transducer) $70.00: A pickup can be installed after the instrument has already been constructed. The pickup is positioned permanently inside the instrument and includes a ¼ inch jack to plug into an amplifier.

Binding $200.00: Binding is hand made decorative hardwood strips that trim the edges of a dulcimer. Binding is mainly for appearance but does add strength to the overall joinery of a dulcimer.

Various exotic wood species: May add to the cost of construction from $30.00 to $300.00 depending on the wood species.

Gold Tuners $50.00

Soundholes: Tree and leaves $40.00, Star & moon $30.00,

Inlays: Dot inlays are $15.00 for 4 mother of pearl dots. Star inlays $85.00 for 6 to 8 mother of pearl stars. Other inlay pricing varies on the complexity of design and materials used.
